The line graph illustrates the percentage of unemployed people who lived in England and aged 16-24 over a period of 20 years from 1993 to 2012.

Overall, It is obvious that, the proportion of young people who were jobless was considerably higher than the proportion of adults not being out of work. In addition, , unemployment rates of young people and adults in London were higher than in the rest of England.

In 1993, While unemployment rate of young people living in the rest of England was around 17%, the figure for those living in the capital of England was higher approximately 5%, at 22%. In addition, the proportion of adults who were unemployed in London was around 14%. However, the percentage of jobless adults outside England was lower around 4%, at 10%. In the next 10 years, levels of joblessness fell considerably in London and in the rest of England.

From 2002 to 2012, the unemployed percentage of young people outside London rose sharply around 9%, from 12% to 21%. Whereas, the jobless proportion of young people in the capital of England increased significantly around 10%, from 15% to a peak of 25%. On the contrary, the jobless proportion of adults both in London and in the rest of England were below 10%, around 9% and 8% respectively.
