The graph reveals the amount of households in the UK that had access to modern technology from 1994 and 1995 to 2008
Overall, an increasing trend was seen for all the listed technological advancements. DVD player grew the most dramatically during a short period to climb for the first place.
In 1994/95, CD player was used in nearly a half of households in the UK and this reached nearly 90% in 2008. In 1996/97, mobile phone wasn’t widely utilized with only 20%. The percentage surged dramatically and then stayed at 80% throughout last 4 years.
As can be seen, 10% was the percentage of households accessing to Internet connection in 1998/99. In 2008, the statistic rose 7 times compared to the beginning. However, Internet connection still stood at last spot. The figure for households using DVD player was 30% in 2002/03 and in 2008, it was about 90%.
