The line graph illustrates’ about four kinds of meat (chicken, beef, lamb, fish) consumed in a European country between 1979 and 2004. The consumption is measured in grams.
Overall, the consumption of beef and lamb decreased over the period given, while for chicken it rose. The amount of fish consumed almost remained constant except for a slight dip in the initial years. At the start of the period, beef was the most popular meat, which was replaced by chicken from 1989 to 2004.
With regards to the amount of beef eaten, it began at around 210 grams person and then peaked to 240 grams in 1989 before falling dramatically to about 100 grams by the end of 2004.
On the other hand, the consumption of chicken started below 150 grams which had seen a steady increase with a slight fluctuation in the middle years before reaching a high of over 250 grams per person. Likewise, the popularity of lamb had decreased constantly before sinking to 60 grams. Fish, which was the lowest consumed meat among others had been constant for the given time period had outlays between 55 and 45 grams per person.
