Overall, it can be seen that consumption of chicken increased, while consumption of the other three foods decreased over the period shown.
Looking at the chart in more detail, it is evident that the amount of chicken which was consumed increased from 140 grams/person/week (g/p/w) in 1979 to 250 g/p/w in 2004, which was the highest point on the chart. In contrast, consumption of beef decreased from 220 g/p/w in 1979 to 100 g/p/w in 2004.
Turning to the remaining two data sets, it can be seen that the amount of lamb which was eaten started at 150 g /p/w in 1979, and shrank to approximately 60 g/p/w in 2004. Consumption of fish showed the smallest change.
