The line graph illustrates the rate of people who expended their leisure time on 4 activities in the USA over the period of 30 years.
In general, What stands out from the line graph is that there were two opposite trends for these 5 figures. While Reading, surfing, hiking and watching TV engaged more elderly people after 30 years, the opposite was true for Theatre. Besides, hiking was an activity which was spent almost all the time by older people in the USA.
Starting at a quite high point, the proportion of people watching TV from the beginning to the 2000s,then, instead of continuing to increase, that figure declined at about 68% in the 2010s. Following that, there was significant waves a fifth in the figure for Reading in the 2000s, after taking off at 60% and higher than that at the first time. Similarly, the percentage of surfing the internet always went up enormously during 30 years.
On the other hand, Theatre was the only activity which had a decline trend. The proportion of people who surfed the internet had a high point at starting time, however, it reached its lowest point in the next 30 years. In contrast, a remarkable rise and not oscillations was witnessed in the percentage of hiking, with the highest point in the last year of period
