The graph below shows the information on waste disposal in a European country from 2005 to 2008. Summarise the information making comparisons where relevant.

The bar chart compares and contrasts data on the changes in three different methods for getting rid of waste materials, measured in million tonnes, in three years, namely 2005, 2006 and 2008.

In general, despite the technique of dumping garbage in landfill lost popularity and declined, dumping in sea rose over this time period.

More specifically, in 2005, dumping in landfill, being by far the most popular method, accounted for 2000 metric tonnes. Then, the figures decreased by 4000 metric tonnes in both 2006 and 2008.

Turning to incineration, being the last technique for waste disposal in all three given years, was 900 metric tones in 2005 which was followed by an increase to 1200 in 2006. However, in 2008, the figures declined to around 900 metric tonnes again.

By contrast, with regard to dumping waste materials in sea, the figures grew from 1200 metric tonnes in 2005 to just above 1600 metric tonnes in 2008, which was the first option compared to others.
