The graph below shows the number of passenger railway journeys made in Great Britain between 1950 and 2004/5.
The line graph demonstrated the amount of people who were traveling in British railway from almost last 5 decades.
Overall, The national rail network and London underground were introduced in 1950, While an Electric rail were started after 1960 with low number of people. However, In the end of 2004 The trio railways were at its peak.
In the beginning of rail era 1000 millions passenger started their journey and suddenly went up before 1960 approximately touched 1100 million. Although Underground trips were less from 750 million and remained same for 3 decades, metro system were almost stopped in 1980.
After, 1980 all trains were rapidly increasing. Light rails goes up and touched 200 million. While, Tube or Local railways were having tough competition before 2004 underground rail slightly increased by 1000 million But in by the period national railway were most popular and seemed same as it were in starting. On the other hand, underground system raised from 600 to 1000 million of traveler.
