The line graph below illustrates the huge number of tourists attending a particular Caribbean island and where they want to live: ship or island in the period from 2010 to 2017.
Overall, it's clear that the island welcomed visitors over the period shown. staying on islands is more prevalent than staying on cruise ships between 2010 and 2015. However, in the last two years, the figures have been reserved.
Looking at the graph more closely, one can be see that initially, a total of 1 million tourists visited the isalnd. An upward trend was seen over the period to reach 3.5 million in 2017, except for a slight shift in the number of people taking part in ships from 2015 to 2017.
As for accommodations, in 2010, three-quarters of total tourists stayed on islands; the remainder stayed on cruise ships. During the first five consecutive years, tourists preferred staying on the islands to staying on cruise ships. To be more specific, the former reached a high of 1.5 million in 2013 and then stabilized over the next two years, while the latter, after some fluctuation, continued to rise to around 1.25 million in 2015. in the last 2 years: 2016 and 2017, staying on cruise ships outnumbered staying on islands, with its figures reaching respectively 2 and 1.5 million.
