The graph below shows the number of tourists visiting a particular Caribbean island between 2010 and 2017.
The chart illustrates the changes in the number of visitors who traveled to one of the Caribbean islands from 2010 to 2017.
Overall, the total quantity of tourists steadily grew over the observation period. The same trend can be noticed for the visitors cruising on ships that overtook those staying on the island by a wide margin.
Turning to details, we can see that in 2010, the number of all travelers accounted for one million, of which the number of staying on the island was about 0.7 million and those cruising on ships nearly 0.3 million. The following year saw a rise in the total number and that of travelling by sea, yet there were no changes in the quantity of spending their holiday on the island. Until 2012, the trend continued for the whole number, but the tendency was reversed for the two types of travel, with the number visiting the island almost doubling yet with the number of going by ship nearly halving.
Between 2012 and 2017, the upward trend was characteristic of all statistics. The number of tourists was gradually increasing to surge to 3.5. Concerning visitors staying on the island, their number did not change significantly, getting a plateau of 1.5 with a drop in 2016 but recovering by the end. Likewise, the number of cruise ships' tourists showed a continuous increase ending with 2 million by 2017.
