The graph below shows the number of university graduates in Canada from 1992 to 2007.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.

The line chart depicts the number of male and female students graduating from the university for the period 1992 to 2007 in Canada.

Overall, female graduates are more in number (150000) than male graduates (100000) for the period chosen for comparison (1992 – 2006). The graph follows same level of fluctuations in the initial period (1992 – 1995) and a rapid increase in the last few years (2001 – 2006).

As per the data, during the period 1992 - 1995 there was a slight increase in numbers of female graduates from 90000 - 110000, however, from 1995 - 1999 there seems to be a drop in the chart where the numbers are same as the year 1995. From the year 2000, the rate of female graduates shoots up from 100000 and reaches 150000 in the year 2006.

Regarding male graduates, there is a minor fluctuation in the initial years i.e. from 1992 the numbers were 70000 and in 1995 it reaches 75000. Over the period 1995 – 2000, there is an instability in the graph which explains the minor fall and rise in numbers of male students. After 2000, the numbers have increased gradually from 70000 to 100000.
