The graph presents the number of Canadian university graduates divided by gender from 1992 to 2007.
Overall, the general graduating rates in Canada increased steadily throughout the period. However, the number of female graduates was dramatically higher than the males.
At a first glance, the number of Canadian graduates merely surged in the fifteen-years period. For female rates, from 1992 to 1996, the female graduating rates leapt from nearly 74000 to over 76000 while the figure slightly dropped to over 71000 in 2000. From 2002 to the end of the period, the rates continued rising to their peak of nearly 95000.
Turning to male rates, starting at about 95 thousand, the number rose to nearly 101 thousand in 1996 and slightly declined to 100 thousand in 1998. By then, the figure continued increasing until got to the highest point of nearly 148 thousand in 2007.
At the second glance, it is obvious that girls graduated from Canadian universities more than boys as the female rates were always higher compared to males with the starting point of over 70000 males and 90000 females and the final figure was over 95 thousand and 148 thousand respectively.
