The given line chart gives information about how many people smoked in Someland was divided into two groups over the period of 40 years from 1960 to 2000.
Overall, it is evident that the ratio of male smokers in Someland steadily decreased over time, but the female smokers' percentage climbed higher. In addition, males' smoking rate dominated chiefly the chart, although they showed a downward trend throughout the period.
At first glance, the number of male smokers was sixfold that of females, at 600. Following 15 years, the figure for women smokers climbed significantly by around 200, while their counterparts saw a first decrease of 500 in the same year.
On the other hand, from 1975 to 1990, the number of women smokers mostly remained unchanged before dropping sharply to 200 in 2000. In comparison, the proportion of males continued declining and finished at 250 at the end of the period.
