The line graph compares the percentage of people in the USA in different age groups using Twitter from November 2010 to May 2013

Overall , it is clearly seen that the trend in the use of Twitter is upward during the period shown. In addition, Twitter saw the most dramatic increase in the 18-29 age group

In November 2010, just around 14% of people aged 18-29 using Twitter, while the figures for the 30-49 year olds was lower ,at 7%.Two year later, the percentage of the youngest group increased significantly to about 32% in August 2012.The figures for the 30-49 age group ended above 15% in May 2015. The 18-29 age group statistics may be described as extraordinary because of the jump from 14% in November 2010 to 30% in May 2013, a more than double rise and its highest point reached approximately 33% in August 2012

Turning to the two remaining groups , Twitter is used by people aged 50 to 64 rose considerably from about 6% in November 2010 to some 13% in May 2013. The figures for elderly who are aged 65 or over increased slightly from around 4% to 5%
