The line graph depicts the quantity of acid rain emissions in millions of tones across four sectors in the UK from 1990 to 2007. Generally, domestic activities produced the least acid rain all through the 17 year period. Electricity, gas and water supply emitted the most from 1990, but ended up third on the scale by 2007, while other industries ended the period with the most activity that emitted acid rain. In addition, transport and communication was fairly constant but increased a little before dropping again by 2007.
In 1990, electricity, gas and water supply emitted the most acid rain at about 3.5 million tones, but steadily reduced up until 1997 when it convoluted to 2000 and regained its steady decline to finishing 2007 with a 0.5 million tones of emission. Other industries emitted a little above 2.0 million tones, remained constant up to 1993, before gradually dropping to a little below 1.5 million tones in 2001. Also, it ended the period with about 1.25 million tones; the most emission by 2007.
Transport and communication together with domestics produced roughly equal amount of acid rain in 1990; however, transport and communication increased up to 1 million tones before declining to 0.75 million tones by 2007. On the other hand, domestic continued to emit less acid rain, and by 2007, produced far less than the 0.5 million tones mark at around 0.2 million tones.
