The given graph compares the number of Australian people who use Chinese, Arabic and Greek as their mother-tongue language during a 26-year period, starting from 1986.

It is clear that Australian people used Chinese and Arabic increased from 1986 to 2011, while the opposite is true for two remain languages Italian and Greek.

In the year 1986, the number of Australian citizens using Greek was the highest at 230000 whereas the figure of arabic stood at 50000 which was the lowest among 4 languages. Besides, there were 100000 people used Chinese and 150000 used Italian in Australia.

During the next 25 years, the number of people using Greek witnessed a slight decrease by 50000. After declining to 100000 at 2006, people used Italian as their first language stayed remained in the next 5 years. There were upward trends in the numbers of people using Chinese and Arabic from 100000 to 350000 and from 50000 to 150000, respectively.
