Overall, the percentage of computer owners in society increased gradually over the period from 2002 to 2010. In addition, while the people who have had postgraduate qualification own owned personal computer most, the least computer ownership by education level belongs belonged to people who have had no high school diploma.
The percentage of people who have had their own computer was about 55% in 2002. It saw a gradual rise in the following years, which were about 60%, 65% and 70% in 2004, 2006 and 2008, respectively. The figure for computer owners reached the peak at 75% in 2010 approximately.
While the proportion of computer owners who had no high school diploma was just about 15% in 2002, that figure rose to a higher level, at 40% in 2010. In addition, it saw higher percentages of computer owners in people who graduated high school, about 35% and 65% in 2002 and 2010, respectively. Approximate 95% and 80% in 2002 and 2010 account accounted for proportions of computer owners who had postgraduate qualifications.
Within the year 2002, around 55% of incomplete college students had personal computers, compared with 85% of bachelor’s degree students. However, in 2010, the figures for owners who had incomplete college degree and bachelor’s degree saw a rise of 10%, and 5%, respectively.
