The graph compares the number of British emigrants to five different countries during 2004 and 2007.
It is clear from the bar chart Australia was the most favorite destination for emigrants from the UK during the research period. Additionally, 2006 by far was the year with the highest number of people leaving England.
In 2004. More than 40,000 immigrants went to Australia were from England, compared to 35,000 British people chose Spain as their destination. By contrast, the immigration figures for New Zealand, the USA and France were significantly lower, at around 22,000 British people went to each countries. In 2005, while the number of British emigrants in Spain and New Zealand remained unchanged, the figure for France witnessed a 10,000 rise to 32,000 people.
By 2006, the number of British emigrants went to Australia increased to more than 50,000 people. In the same year, Spain and New Zealand migrants figures stayed at the same level, whereas France's figure declined to around 26,000 British emigrants. In 2007, decreases were witnessed in all figures in the graph, and the most dramatic changes were occurred in Australia and France.
