These graphs give information about the growth of global population from 1400 to 2000 and its distribution over different areas at the beginning of the 20th century and 21st century.

Overall, it is clear that there was an increasing in the number of people in the world and Asia is the region that has the most population. However, most of population growth occurred in Africa and Latin America.

As can be seen from the line chart, the world population rose gradually by about 1 billion people between 1400 and 1700 and then decreasing slowly to 1 billion people in 1800, before surging to 6 billion people by 2000.

The pie charts show that in 1900 and in 2000, both Asia and Europe witnessed a considerably fell in their percentage of population, the former from 6% to 10% and the latter form from 60% to 54%. By contrast, the population of Latin America and Africa rose dramatically by 5% and 9.5% respectively. Whereas, North America showed no changes, remaining constant at 5% of the world population. The percentage in other continents increased from 3.5% to 6%.
