Overall, all countries saw an increase in their coffee exports over the graph period. However, Brazil’s coffee sales witnessed a significant rise compared to the other 2 countries.
In terms of Brazil, in the beginning, the sales stood at around 12.5 million kilograms and the value rose steadily to 20 million kilograms in 2008. Following that, 2008 to 2010 saw a slight reduction in the number of exports to around 18 million kilograms in 2010; however, there was a sharp rise in the sales to 25 million kilograms in 2012, which was the highest among the three nations.
Colombia started the period at 15 million kilograms, which was the highest value in 2002. However, there was a sharp fall in the levels of coffee exports to around 7.5 million kilograms in 2006, after which the sales increased gradually to 20 million kilograms in 2012. Costa Rica, which exported the least amount over the period began at 5 million kilograms in 2002, and despite the steady rise to 12.5 million kilograms in 2006, 2008 saw the lowest value of around 2.5 million kilograms. Then, the sales rose sharply to 15 million kilograms to finish the graph period.
