The graph illustrates the percentage of waste that was recycled in 3 countries: the UK, France and Germany.
Overall, it can be seen that the proportion of recycled waste for France and Germany significantly increased, while the opposite was true for the UK.
In 2005, the household recycling rates for Germany were the lowest, with 20%, while the figure for France had the highest rate at 50%; which was followed behind by the figure for the UK at 35%.
Over the next 10 years, the percentage of recycled waste for the UK hit its highest point of 60% at the end of the period. At the same time, there was a significant growth from 20% to roughly 60% in the proportion of recycled waste for Germany. In contrast, the time between 2005 and 2013 witnessed a gradual decrease to 30% and then slightly rose to 40% in 2015 in the figure for France.
