Summarize the information by selecting and reporting in the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
The presented line graph depicts how many single-family houses were built in different areas of the United States in each of the years from 2006 to 2012.
Overall, the quantities of the new residential houses were built on a downtrend in all four areas from 2006 to 2010. Moreover, a significant spot was also found that the number of houses was invested to construct most in the South, while the construction of the Northeast was least.
On the one hand, we could perceive a considerable difference in the number of houses built in each region. In each of years shown on the graph, South always dominated the first place comparing to other areas with 900,000 houses were built in 2006, the year with the biggest construction. This number abruptly drop in 2008, and after two years, it reached the bottom with the lowest number - 300,000 houses. However, it was still the highest number of all the regions. In marked contrast, the lowest position belonged to Northeast with the most and least number which were under 200,000 in 2006 and approximately 50,000 in 2012.
On the other hand, 2006 was the year with the most construction in all the areas, and the quantities of all regions declined steadily until 2010, especially the sharpest and least slight fall which were in South and Northeast. However, three of the regions rose slightly again, except for the Northeast. In which, we could still see the continual decrease.
