But, a significant increase of 20 was seen in the figure for international events from 1980 to 1990 and city C continued to rise gradually 5 in the number of global events in 1995. Specifically, city C increased to 35 in the figure for international events over a period of 5 years; however, there was a gradual drop to about 3 in the number of international events in 2005.
In contrast, city A with a starting point of 35 in the number of international conferences which declined by 5 from 1980 to 1985. Moreover, the number of international events saw a considerable decrease of 8 from 1990 to 2005, except in 2005 which increased by 2. There was a fluctuation in the number of global conferences in city B between 1980 and 2005, which was followed by a decline to a low of just under 20 in 1985.
