The given line graph illustrates the amount of paper and packaging, sawn-wood and wood pulp produced in the UK between 1980 and 2000.
Overall, it is clear that paper and packaging production had a the most a significant rise and remained in the first place during the period compared to the other two categoriesfigures, ending the period in first place. On the other hand, the figures for sawn-wood and wood pulp experienced went through a downward trend and landed in last place.
According to the graph, from 1980 to 1990, paper and packaging witnessed went through a considerable rise, increasing from 230 to 250 million tonnes. During the next 10 years, this figure witnessed a significant increase to a high of its peak at 350 million tonnes of paper produced.
By contrast, the amount of sawn-wood and wood pulp both saw a decrease. From the year 1980 to 1990, sawn-wood production dropped from its highest point at 200 million tonnes to around 150 million tonnes before bottomingbottomed at 130 million tonnes in 2000. Similarly to the figure mentioned above, the amount of wood pulp produced in the first ten years fell gradually from its top at 180 million tonnes to its lowest point at 150. After that, the production of wood pulp slowly rose to 160 million tonnes in 2000.
