The two maps of village of Stokeford from 1930 and 2010 shoes how the village changed in the course of 80 years.
We can see from these maps that even though few things remaind the same in the 80 years, Stokeford was definitely modernized and there was a significant increase in the population by looking at the number of new houses.
In 1930, Stokeford had a large farmland area to the east of River Stoke and next to the primary school which in 2010 was replaced by new houses and roads to accommodate new settlers. Also for this purpose, shops next to post office was also removed. The gardens were also shrunked to add few more houses and roads. The addition of new houses reflects the idea of growing population in Stokeford. The large house inside the garden was extended so that it can be converted to a retirement home.
In 80 years, few of the things remained the same like the bridge over river stoke and the post office. However, the primary school changed significantly by expanding and adding few more blocks.
