Overall, it is clear that there are four different types of area were built over the period, and the village was constructed with three types of transportation.
From 1868 to 1883, Park and Golf course were built in the central of the village, and the main roads also were constructed in the north and the west of Chorleywood. The village Station was added in the southwest of the center from 1883 to 1922 when the Railway, which went across the Station and the western main road, was built in the south in 1909.
Two areas were built on each side of the Station from 1922 to 1970. In 1970, the Motorway, which went across the northern main road and southern railway, was added in the east of the village. Besides, five areas had been constructed both sides of the motorway with two areas in the north and the last three in the south from 1970 to 1994.
