The map below is of the town of Garlsdon. A new supermarket (S) is planned for the town. The map shows two possible sites for the supermarket.

The picture illustrates two different positions where is expected to build a new supermarket in a town called Garlsdon, which has 65,000 people live there.

Overall, one location, which is predicted to construct a supermarket, is in the center of the town, and another site is a suburb.

On the one hand, if the supermarket is built in the middle of the town, it can attract more consumers who live in the houses and industrial zone nearby. Besides, people live in Bransdon and Cransdon, where they have the population 15,000, 29,000 and are 16 km, 25 km far away from the center respectively, could go there by the main road.

On the other hand, if the supermarket is constructed in the site S1, which is located in the northwest countryside, consumers from Hindon, which has population 10,000 and is 12 km far from the center, can easily go there by another the main road. Both sites are close to the railway, which goes through Grarlson from Hindon to Cransdon.
