The map below is of the town of Garlsdon. A new supermarket (S) is planned for the town. The map shows two possible sites for the supermarket.
The map compares two potential locations for a new supermarket in a town of Garlsdon.
It is clear from the map that the first site (S1) is outside the town, while the second site (S2) is in the town center.
Looking at the site S1, it is in the countryside and it lies 12 kilometers to the northwest of the town. This location is good for local residents of Garlsdon and Hindon. S2 is right in the center of Garlsdon and it is also close to the housing area.
In addition, there are three main roads from Hindon, Bransdon and Cransdon to Garlsdon. However, the central area is a no traffic zone, so parking would be a problem in S2. By contrast, S1 lies on the main road to Hindon, it would be more difficult to arrive from Bransdon and Cransdon. Main transport system for both locations is railway which links between Hindon and Cransdon.
