The pictures depict the changes that took place in Frenton between 1990 and 2012.
Overall, over the period of 12 years, the examined area experienced modernization process to became more developed and civilized. It can also be seen that the majority of old venue were all upgraded and expanded while the Frenton's layout seemed to remain intact.
To begin with, the high street, which located in the central area, divided the map into 2 separate parts. On the right-hand side of the road, the previous location used for coffee and park in the 1990s are now substituted by the newly-built hotel and golf course. Furthermore, the old theater nearby and shops have also been renewed and equipped more facilities to become a cinema and a supermarket respectively. Meanwhile, a special area at the eastern part serving for housing was destroyed to make room for modern blocks of flats in 2012.
