The pictures illustrate how a waterfront area of Darwin town had developed over a 5-year period
Overall, this place had undergone many significant shifts with the most noticeable one being the removal of the area for industrial activities. Also, the construction of a brand new harbor was also a significant alteration for the local people’s income
Looking at the map in 2009, the industrial area occupied the majority of this location. A part of this industrial site together with a lake was encircled by a footpath which was bordered by the convenient center to the north, a school to the northwest, and a couple of houses to the south. Also, there were two swimming pools constructed adjacent to the coast and a fishing area in the northeast corner of the map
By 2014, all of the industrial areas had been flattened and planted with many new trees. To the east of the map was an addition of a university building and a few accommodations were erected parallel to the old ones. The industrial area in the north which had been surrounded by a circled footpath had also been demolished to make way for a new swimming pool. While there was a brand new harbour constructed to the southeast of the area and a footpath erected from the west to provide access to this harbor, there was no transformation witnessed in the lake, the school, the swimming pools and the fishing area
