The maps below show Hunderstone town at present and a proposed plan for it.
The given two pictures compare the layout of a town named Hunderstone as it is now with a proposed scheme for development.
Overall, one of the most striking changes to the area is that whereas the eastern side will almost remain unchanged, the western one will undergo several significant changes, especially with regards to the transport infrastructure.
As regards the first map, Hunderstone is currently divided into two main areas by the railway which crosses the entire town from north to south. To the west of the railway, there is an air field that is connected with the arterial road (A2). A roundabout in the middle of this road connects the A2 road with the east of the town, in particular the build-up area surrounding the town center. Furthermore, a gas station is located next to the connecting road intersection with the railway.
In the future, however, the plan involves the erection of an industrial estate on the original site of the air field. A new railway line will also be built to provide further access to this area. One another development is that a larger roundabout will be constructed in proximity to the current gas station. Finally, a new road (A4) which links the A2 road with the central area is also planned to be built in the south of the town.
