The maps below show an industrial area in the town of Norbiton, and planned future development of the site
The maps illustrate the planned development of the Norbiton industrial area.
Overall, it is clear that the industrial area would be converted into a residential area in the future. It is worth noting that the planned conversion contains many amenities to bring about more convenience for future citizens.
At the present, there is farmland in the north of Norbiton, which is separated from the town by a river. In the central area, there is a roundabout which is circled by three factories. There is a path leading from the roundabout to the East side of the town, surrounded by five separate factories.
In the plan, the area for agriculture would be reduced with the development of houses and a road connecting the central roundabout with farmland across the river. In the central area, the factories would be demolished to provide space for more housing areas, shops and medical centre and a playground for children. These public areas would be more accessible thanks to the development of road network in the town. Moreover, the future plan will add a new roundabout near medical centre.
