The given maps well depict the change that took place in Stokeford village, between the year of 1930 and 2010. It can be clearly seen that although there are a few similarities between both maps, numerous factors in the village have been modernized.
In details, several changes have been made in the right side of the central road. Farmlands were replaced in order to expand the amount of residentials. In addition, primary school was also widened, with two parallel building blocks added toward the east. Lastly, a significant shift happened to Stokeford garden, which was transformed to a home for retirement in 2010.
On the other side of the map, shops have been removed by the year of 2010, due to the increase in houses. The western farmland riverside has also been substituted by a series of apartments, with ring road surronds.
In summary, despite the town’s urban development and the disappearance of arable land, its post office and central road have remained unchanged over years.
