The maps below shows the development of the village of Ryemouth between 1995 and present.
The two pictures depict how the village called Ryemouth has developed since 1995. Overall, the major changes appeared in the east side of the region. In addition, new infrastructure has also been added to the village during the period.
In 1995, there was a large piece of farmland being in adjacent to the forest park in the east of Ryemouth. Shops and fish market are located in the western area, along both sides of the East-West main road, given the coastal line and a fishing port available nearby. On the other side of the North-South road, a hotel and a café lay opposite to the shops and markets respectively. Several households are situated along the North-South road.
Moving onto the present, a golf field containing two tennis courts has been constructed on the spot where the farmland and the forest park once were. Shops and fish markets now have been replaced by restaurants and blocks of apartment; additionally, the fishing dock was also demolished. A small car park has been built in close proximity to the hotel. Noticeably, one more East – West road has been extended on the basis of the North-South one and some residences have been built along the brand opening road.
