The pie chart below shows the main reasons why agricultural land becomes less productive. The table shows how these causes affected three regions of the world during the 1990s.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The given pie chart represents the four important causes of degradation of land all over the world and the table lists three regions and the amount of degraded land along with reasons in percentages.

Overall, deforestation and over-grazing were the major contributing factors of degradation of land throughout the world while excess-cultivation had also a significant proportion. Considering the regions, europe had a fair amount of degraded land which was followed by oceania and then in north-america.

Globally, over-grazing contributed to 35% while the deforestation accounted for 30% which was closely followed by over-cultivation at 28%. However, other reasons accounted, for a mere 7% of the total.

In 1990, europe had the highest degraded land which was 23% in which deforestation was the major factor while in case of oceania, surprisingly over-cultivation accounted for nothing while over-grazing and deforestation together contributed to make a total of 13%. North-america had the least amount of degraded land with just 5% in which more than fifty-percent of share was from over-cultivation.
