The charts show data about tourists to the US from Canada, Mexico, China, and others between 1988 and 1992.
It can be seen that number of Canadian and Mexican all increased, while there was significant decrease of people from China and others. Although having gone down, proportion of other countries was still the highest, on the other hand, after the decrease, China’s proportion became the lowest figure.
From 1988 to 1990, visitors from Canada and China all fell down, percentage of Canadian went down from 25% to 20%, Chinese’s percentage decreased from 12% to 9%. On the other hand, Mexico’s tourists given to America had dramatical increase, Mexican’s proportion jumped from10% to 28%. In the same period, percentage of guest from other countries significantly declined 10%.
In the period from 1990 to 1992, Mexican tourists’ proportion continued to grow 2%, when this figure of China kept dropping from 9% to 4%. With the same as Mexico, after the decrease, percentage of Canadian’s visitors rose 6%. On the other hand, although number of tourists from other countries still fell down, with 40% of all tourists travelling to US, they always were the highest over the period.
