The pie charts below give information about the percentages of the world population living in various parts of the world in 1900 and 2000.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The given graphs illustrate fractions of human population in different parts of the world in 1900 and in 2000.

Overall, it is clearly seen, that the portion of Asians and Europeans diminished in the 20th century, in contrast to African and Latin American population. In addition, the number of people on the planet rose from 1.6 billion to 6 billion.

In 1900 three-fifth of human beings on Earth were people from Asia. However, the percentage of them dropped slightly to 54 per cent in 2000. The similar pattern is observed in figures for Europe, which includes Russia in this data, with one quarter at the beginning of the 20th century and only 14 per cent at the end. Meanwhile, the percentage of North America and others remained the same with 8 per cent, collectively.

Unlike Asia and Europe, the fraction of Latin America's and Africa's population experienced a sharp increase during the time period. They stood at 3 and 4 per cent in 1900, respectively, and reached 8 per cent in Latin America and one-tenth in Africa in 2000. Additionally, the Middle East and North Africa appeared in statistics only in 2000 with 6 per cent.
