The pie charts below show the comparison of different kinds of energy production of France in two years.
The pie charts compare the changes in energy production from 5 different sources in France in two separate years, 1995 and 2005.
Overall, the amount of energy generated from all sources increased slightly in 2005 except for petrol, which decreased significantly. It is also noticeable that coal and gas were the main sources of energy production whereas other sources produced the least percentage of energy in both years.
The proportion of energy produced from coal in 1995 was 29.80% and this, then, rose slightly to 30.93% in 2005. Similarly, energy production from gas in 1995 was 29.63% which climbed a mere 1% to 30.31% in 2005.
With regard to energy production from other sources and nuclear power, both figures grew by almost 5% in 2005 to 9.10% and 10.10% respectively. By contrast, a dramatic drop of around a fifth to 19.55% in 2005 could be seen on the amount of energy produced from petrol.
