In South America, although agriculture is a main user of water with 71%, domestic usage by 19% is higher than industry by 10% in this region.
In more industrialized countries in North America and Europe, the majority of their consumption is attributed to industry (48% and 53% respectively). The percentage of water consumption in other areas with an insignificant different are like each other, 39% and 32% for agriculture and 13% and 15% for domestic user respectively.
