The three pie charts present information about world consumption in food in the year 2008. The charts also show amount of bought food in two countries, namely China and India, which was compared in the same year.
In particular, Process food and also vegetables and fruits made up to the two biggest items of food consumption. Altogether, they constituted over 60% of the total spending on food in all three pie charts. The same pattern is that in the world and the two other countries spending processed food exceeded vegetables and fruits consumption.
The rest of people’s spending was divided among animal food and also nuts and seeds. The figure for nuts and seeds was 19%, exceeding the proportion of animal food, which had only 15%. Turning to the world behavior of food consumption, the proportion of animal food was 26%, which almost equaled to 27% of India. There is the same trend in nuts and seeds, comprising the least popular food in the world and India at 4% and 11% respectively.
