Essay topics:

The plans below show the site of an airport now and how it will look after redevelopment next year.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Given are two maps comparing the physical changes of the Southwest airport at present and after a year of renovation.

It is conspicuous that after undergoing expansion and development, the area seems to be much more modern with further facilities added. Moreover, the north of the airport is likely to be the focal point of this modernizing plan.

With a glance at the renovating plan, gates in and out of the airport are about to be double in number. Separately, from the departure gate, passengers now take tickets at the check-in counter located in the far left of the space when a café put in the opposite site aids them in relaxing before entering the security passport control area. However, under renovation, the appearance of the bag drop in the check-in counter’s original room will lead to the relocation of both the café and the check-in counter. While the former is moved to the east of the bag drop, the latter then is reconstructed at the bottom left-hand side of the departures area. Correspondingly, there are distinct changes that are going to eventuate in the arrivals space. Although no facility is put in it to date, a year later will witness the great development with the addition of a new café on the top right-hand corner and an ATM machine down south. Even a new car rent is also equipped to adapt to customers’ needs.
At present, towards the back of the airport, an empty space leads fly-goers to different 8 gates, numbered from one to eight, where they are able to board the craft. On the opposite, a new shop is likely to be erected to fill the hallway in the future. Furthermore, in order for the convenience to serve customers, the airport is planned to make a strong expansion in the north of the airport with another 10 gates erected in the next year. Impressively, a sky train is prepared to appear in this space, which will replace completely the existed walkway
