production of matchsticks
The diagram illustrates the steps and equipments required in the production of match sticks. Overall production of matches is an extensive process involving stages such as chopping, drying, and dipping into various chemical substances. Finally, after the tedious process matches are sent into the packaging area for deployment.
First and foremost, the wooden logs are peeled and veneered by rotating them continuously. A chopper then chops these strips of wood into small sticks which are submerged in ammonium phosphate tank for further processes. While the sticks are rotating in a dryer, they are also sent into a hopper. For transporting sticks further into a storage area via metal duct, a powerful blower is often used. From the storage area, the match sticks enter the most fundamental part of the production process.
The matches are transported on the perforated steel belt to an inserter which arranges the sticks in a systematic format for the chemical processes. They undergo three major dippings, that is in the paraffin wax tank, based chemicals tank, and tip chemicals tank, and again sent to the drying area. In the last stage of production, the match sticks are ready to be deployed for sale after they undergo packaging.
