Overall, Mandarin Chinese language has the highest number of native speakers whereas the Portuguese have the least number of native speakers. Furthermore, the English language has the greatest number of speakers as an additional language.

About 900 million people speak Mandarin Chinese as their own national language whereas the number of non-native speakers of the same language is only 190 million. However, Portuguese language is comprised of 213 million speakers varying 203 million native speakers and only 10 million as non-native speakers.

In terms of English, it has more number of speakers who speak this language as an additional language (603 million) that the first language speakers (339 million). Surprisingly, the native speakers of the Hindi language are 3 times higher than the number of non-native speakers (370 million and 120 million respectively). As for the two languages, Arabic and Spanish, the second language contains almost the double number of speakers than that of the first language Arabic which is 420 million and 230 million in total.
