Overall, the earliest date opened city is london, but this city has only average passengers per year, while tokyo has the highest passengers per year, but shorter kilometres of route.
As can be seen from the table, the london railway system that opened in 1863 is the oldest. it is also the most extensive with 394 kilometres of route. In Paris, the underground was opened in 1900. it is about half the size and serves more passengers. The underground in tokyo has the largest passengers with 1927 million passengers each year and 155 kilometres of route.
According to the three other undergrounds, Washington DC has the longest route of the three.
