The table below summarises some data collected by a college bookshop for the month of February 2000.
The table above shows the sales figures of fiction, non-fiction and magazine books in a university bookshop in February 2000. These figures can be divided into two groups: non-book club and book club members.
it can be seen in the non-book club members category that magazines(1249) had the highest numbers of books in the students group, which was followed by college staff (332) and members of public(82). compared with fiction books , non-fiction books were more popular in non-book club members with 194 in college students and 122 in members of public, separately,excepting for college staff, which was 29.
when it comes to book club members, non-fiction books played an significant role in book club members with 942, which was more 12 times than fiction books(76). In contrast with non-book club members, magazines, which was 33, was least likely to be chosen by book club members.
Overall, college students account for the main part of the sales and magazines are the most popular books in this bookshop.
