The given table elucidates information about the area of woodland in some selected continents in the world between 1990 and 2005.

In general, while Europe took first place in the number of forest area, Oceania had the smallest area of woodland.

It is noticeable from the table that the number of woodland in Asia illustrated some fluctuation around 570 millions of hectares and 584 millions of hectares. Different from the mentioned continent, in 1990, the area which was covered by woods in Europe was 989 millions of hectares. 15 years later, this number rocketed to 1001 millions of hectares, more than 900 in Asia.

In contrast, the rest continents experienced a downward trend. Over a period of 10 years begin at 1990, forested land in Africa plummeted approximately 40 millions of hectares, as same as the difference in South America during that period. Moreover, North America depicted a slight drop of 3 millions of hectares, then remained stable.
