Essay topics:

• Task 1: The plan below shows a school in 1985 and the school now. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The map illustrates a number of changes which took place in the design of a school between 1985 and now.
Overall, there are remarkable developments in the layout associated with the introduction of infrastructures especially the south of the map.
Looking in more details about that in 1985, play fields were located in the north of the map and took a comparatively large area. Next to that on the right-hand side, the classroom block was constructed with 2 storeys and classrooms were opposite that. Moreover, there were two car parks, the smaller one was in front of the classrooms while the bigger one was surrounded by a road which forked to playing fields. The library was to the right of classrooms and an office was built opposite the bigger car park.
Now, it is obvious that playing fields have decreased in size in order to make room for a fitness centre with a triangle shape, a pool and 2 areas for classrooms opposite to each other. The library was demolished and the learning resources centre including the computer room has been constructed. The bigger car park was redesigned from rectangle to half round shape so that the road changed the same and did not fork. In the center of the map, the small car park and classrooms were deleted and they have planted trees on that. Furthermore, the office and classroom block were located on the same place but the latter has been added 1 storey.
