The pie charts give an analysis of the expenditure of a UK based school in the years 1981, 1991 and 2001. From the given data, it can be seen that the school spent most of its annual budget on salaries. It is also seen that some avenues of expenditure such as furniture and equipment showed a fluctuating spending pattern, while spending on insurance showed a steady increase.
In 1981, teachers' salaries encompassed most of the expenditure which was 40% and the second-highest was the other salaries contributing 28%. Resources and furniture and equipment shared the same amount(15%) while insurance is responsible for the lowest amount of costing merely taking 2% of the total amount.
Teachers' salaries saw an increase of 10% in 1991 as well as resources such as books for which the increase was 5%. The school spent a smaller amount of money on furniture equipment and other salaries than in the previous decade which is 6% and 10% less respectively but insurance expenses rose up to 3%.
After 10 years, in 2001, the budget for teachers' salaries declined 5% but was still higher than it was in 1991. Furniture and equipment costs hiked up to 23% from 5% and so did insurance costings. Expenses on insurance climed up to 9% as both spending on workers' salaries and books fell down drastically.
