The pie charts illustrate the percentage of the major sources( oil, natural gas, coal, hydroelectric power, nuclear power), using to create energy in the USA between 1980 and 1990.
Overall, the top of consumption of sources was oil although, its contribution went down the fastest in total sources over a decade starting in 1980.
In 1980, 42% of total energy was produced by oil, this figure was almost two times as many as the percentage of coal and 16% more than that of natural gas. However, its spending dropped 11% to 33% 10 years later. On the contrary in 1990 witnessed a significant climb in the rate of nuclear power, a doubled increase from 5% to 10%. Furthermore, an upward trend of the proportion of coal, which was a traditional source to manufacture the energy, rose slightly by 5% beginning at 22%. In this year experienced a quite balance about the rate of three large below sources.
Over the following 10 years, the remainders( natural gas and hydroelectric power) maintained constantly their level, which accounted for 26% and 5% respectively, a reflection that the USA still used Hydropower as the weakest source.
