The two maps below show the changes in the town of Denham from 1986 to the present day.
The given maps compare the renovations that have taken place in the town of Denham over a period of 34 years from 1986 to the present day.
Looking from the overall perspective, it is readily apparent that the town has undergone numerous changes resulting in better infrastructure, improved facilities, and expanded layout. However, a small post office to the west of the driveway and a bridge over the river stoke remained unaltered.
The striking feature of the given illustration is the dominance of agricultural land. In 1986, the maximum proportion of the layout was covered by the farmland, which was spread out towards the east and west side of the driveway. After that to accommodate the increased population, the present era can witness a surge in the housing units at the extended roads through the driveway replacing the farmlands and the shops as well. Now there are neither shops nor farmlands left, although the post office is still there.
Moreover, to the east of the bridge, removal of the pathway connecting the river to the gardens has led to the expansion of the old primary school. In addition, the gardens, including the large house have been knocked down to create a spacious retirement home with few planted trees. The connecting edge of the extended roadside to the retirement home is surrounded by new residential units to the south of the primary school.
