Given are the bar chart depicts changes in the population of Australian-born and non-Australian-born people living in cities, towns, and urban areas, during a period of 15 years, starting from 1995.
It is obvious that the percentage of Australians born outside of Australia who live in cities was highest throughout the time frame depicted. Between 1995 and 2010, there were significant shifts in the population of towns and rural areas, both inside and outside of Australia.
About 50% of Australians who were born and resided in cities in 1995; this ratio increased to 65% in 2010. The percentage of non-Australians increased from 60% in 1995 to 80% in 2015, a 20% increase. The number of rural dwellers within and outside of Australia fell precipitously; it went from 30% to 15% for Australians and from 40% to around 5% for foreigners.
In comparison to other regions, the bar for town population density varied less noticeably. The proportion of persons in this sector born in Australia peaked at 20% in 1995 and decreased to 15% in 2010. The rates for those born outside of Australia were steady, peaking at 10% after 15 years.
